Where to Find the Best Pumpkins for Your Coastal Fall Decor
One of the most common questions I get every fall is: where do you find those pumpkins?! You know the ones. Seafoam, white, pale blue, soft sage. The pumpkins that look like they belong at the beach just as much as they belong on a fall porch.
The good news is they're more available than ever, and you don't have to spend a fortune to get the coastal fall look you're dreaming of. Here are my favorite places to find the best pumpkins for your coastal fall decor, plus how I style them with a handmade sign to pull the whole look together.
1. Shop Handmade and Small Local Shops
This is always my first recommendation. Small makers and local shops are where you find the most unique, one-of-a-kind pumpkins that nobody else on your street will have. Think crocheted pumpkins in coastal colors, fabric pumpkins in plaid or linen, hand-painted ceramic pumpkins, and handmade wooden pumpkin decor.
Etsy is a great place to start if you don't have local makers nearby. Search for "coastal pumpkin," "seafoam crochet pumpkin," or "fabric fall pumpkin," and you'll find incredible options.
Farmer's markets and local craft fairs in August and September are also goldmines.

2. Buy Supplies from Craft Stores and Paint Your Own
This is one of my favorite budget-friendly options and honestly one of the most satisfying. Pick up plain foam or craft pumpkins from your local craft store and paint them in your favorite coastal colors to match your decor.
Creamy white, seafoam, pale sage, soft blue, and sandy beige all work beautifully.
You can also buy fake pumpkins in traditional orange or white and paint them. Even real pumpkins take paint well with the right primer. Another fun technique is decoupaging napkins with coastal patterns onto foam pumpkins for a textured, one-of-a-kind look.
3. Target Dollar Spot
Don't sleep on the Target Dollar Spot! Some of my absolute favorite mini pumpkins have come from right at the front of the store. They're usually already in colors I love, like soft white or pale green, and at $1-3 each, they are an incredible deal.
My one tip: swap out the stems. The fake-looking plastic stems that come on most craft and dollar store pumpkins are an easy fix. Just pull them out and replace them with a small stick from your yard for an instant upgrade.

4. HomeGoods, TJ Maxx, and Marshalls
This is my absolute favorite place to find larger coastal pumpkins, and honestly the place that started it all for me. The HomeGoods family of stores carries the most beautiful seafoam, white, and pale blue pumpkins every fall, usually starting in late August. At around $4.99 each, they are an incredible deal, and they look like they cost so much more.
The key is to shop early. These pumpkins sell out fast, and once they're gone, they're gone til next year. I check my local HomeGoods and TJ Maxx starting in mid-August every year and grab them as soon as I see them. I may have ended up with 8 one year!!
