Why Fall at the Beach is the Perfect Time for a Cozy Refresh
Fall is my absolute FAVORITE time to be at the beach! The crisp air, golden sunsets, and soft, warm sand create the perfect backdrop for decorating. Here are my favorite coastal-inspired tips for bringing a touch of fall into your home, while keeping things light, airy, and beachy.
The key to coastal fall decorating is balance. You don't have to choose between fall and the beach. The two styles complement each other beautifully when you lean into soft, natural colors and textures instead of the traditional orange and red. Think seafoam, white, cream, sandy beige, and soft sage, with pumpkins and driftwood side by side.
1. Use What You Have
Coastal homes are all about simplicity and balance. Start by swapping your usual decor from room to room. Maybe move those woven seagrass baskets from the kitchen into the living room. Add subtle fall textures like driftwood, seagrass, or rope. A few real pumpkins nestled among your existing decor add that touch of autumn without losing the laid-back coastal vibe.
This is also a great time to pull out any neutral-toned pieces you've had tucked away. Cream ceramic vases, wooden trays, and woven baskets all work beautifully as a base for fall styling without requiring any new purchases.

If you can't get to the beach, pampas grass and dried botanicals from a craft store work beautifully and last all season. Wheat stalks are another favorite. I grab mine at Publix every fall and they add incredible texture at a great price.

I always grab a few bundles of wheat from our local Publix and snag pumpkins from a local patch! They add natural texture while maintaining that laid-back beach charm.
Also keep an eye out at HomeGoods, TJ Maxx, and Marshalls in August and September for coastal-colored pumpkins in seafoam, white, and cream. They sell out fast, so grab them when you see them. At around $4.99 each they are a steal.
