I have always loved incorporating the beach in my home wherever I have lived. As a child it was often just a beach treasure or two, then it was a beach bathroom in my first apartment, and then onto a nautical bedroom and bathroom once I got married. Then once we purchased our first home, I decided not to hold back and to fully decorate our downstairs with coastal decor.

Now these photos are from our listing when we sold our TN home and moved to Florida, so it's a little paired down, but you can see the coastal influence!

There's only one room in my current house in Florida that isn't beachy, and that's because I've let my girls choose their own style. One has a beachy bedroom and one doesn't! If you know my kids, you'll know which is which without me even having to say!

We've of course fully embraced decorating our home as a beach house now, and of course we absolutely love it. Ok, maybe it's me that loves it and my family just tolerates me. But other than asking they keep it clean, I let me girls do their own thing with their rooms.

I truly never thought that I'd be decorating a house near the beach this soon in life. I really thought it would be a retirement dream for us. I do hope one day to have an ocean view from my beach house, but baby steps!
